Poster design

This is a wide variety of my poster design, featuring event promotion posters, featured artist posters, and my submission for the Pitchfork contest in 2013. I built all of my posters using Photoshop and Illustrator, and frequently utilized textures from my personal collection as well as hand-lettering and completely custom typography.

Open Mic events were quite common at the Music Garage when I was working there. This one was inspired by taking “open mic’ to its most literal interpretation. I took apart my own microphone’s case and made an IKEA manual-esque illustration of the components. I used both Photoshop and Illustrator for this piece, Illustrator for the drawing, color, and typography, and Photoshop for the texturing.

This Showcase poster was made for a psychedelic music show. I took inspiration from the chaotic and hallucinatory vibes of classic psychedelic designers like Wes Wilson and developed this goofy piece. This poster is unique because it’s one that was created almost entirely by hand, except for the grunge texture on the paper which is one from my personal texture collection.
