CTBUH 2023 International conference
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat puts on a massive international conference annually. Working with the team, we developed all of the assets for the conference, both digital and print, with guidance from the brand guide developed by Multiple, Inc. I, personally, was able to take the brand assets and push them further: taking the patterns and creating motion graphics, developing digital signage and presentation templates, and creating custom large format signage for the lecterns.
We then collaborated to develop the next volume of Tall and Urban, CTBUH’s annual hardcover book detailing all of the submissions for the awards program, organized by competition category. I pitched using the spreads between sections to provide a bright pop of color, and to highlight the current section with text treatment. I also created the Awards Video for the conference, a video that is akin to the Academy Awards, where they will show clips of the competing works and then a live presenter will announce the category winner.
HUMANIZING HIGH DENSITY ANIMATED EMAIL BANNERS
Developing compelling graphics for the headers of email marketing initiatives is always a task worth critically thinking about. I focused primarily on ways to implement the pattern typologies into motion graphics, to expand on the concepts without breaking from the branding guidelines. Coupling those with animations that coincide with the patterns and have a call-and-response with the original patterns, I believe we ended up with compelling animated banners that are not too obtrusive.
CTBUH AWARDS CEREMONY LECTERN SIGN
When I was designing the Awards Ceremony lectern sign, I was thinking about how humanizing high density could relate to an awards program. The sign’s overall shape is reminiscent of a fancy glass, and one of the patterns used in the branding was of these circles, an abstraction of urban density. Combining those concepts with the gold color allowed me to create a sign that plays on the idea of a celebratory champagne flute, which I felt captured the spirit of the moment well and invite the connection to the overarching theme of the conference.
